This band consists of 6th grade or 1st year band students. The instruments are separated into different periods in the school day so directors can provide the best training on sound production, hand position, posture, and technique. This ensemble performs at the winter concert and spring concert all together. Students who would like to join band (5th grade or otherwise) should talk with a band director during chart your course, place band as #1 choice on their schedule card for the following school year, and attend an Instrument Test Drive prior to their first year in band. With the help of professional musicians and teachers, students will be placed on an instrument that allows them to be the most successful to enjoy their band experience.
